Synopsis for “The Wolf’s Tale”The old saying that there are two sides to every story is the basis for Last Leaf Productions’ “The Wolf’s Tale”. In this colorful and comical program we see the familiar stories of Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs from the wolf’s point of view. With music and downright silliness the wolf gets to show everyone what really happened and how his simple acts of kindness and friendship were totally misunderstood and transformed by some vindictive pigs into the villainous deeds that appear in the more familiar versions of these stories. “The Wolf’s Tale” is recommended for children ages 4 and up and their families.Synopsis for “The Dancing Princess”“The Dancing Princess” is an old fashioned fairy tale based loosely on Hans Christian Andersen’s the “Twelve Dancing Princesses” and a similar tale from the Ukraine. The play opens as a down-on-his-luck adventurer and dragonslayer, Anatoly, wanders into the forest belonging to King Valentine. There he meets an old conjurer who tells him about the woeful situation there. No one in the entire kingdom can buy any good shoes because the shoemakers in the kingdom are continuously busy making shoes for the King’s only daughter, Princess Yulia. It seems she wears out her shoes every night. The king is at wit’s end trying to find out why her shoes are always worn out and the princess is not telling. He has issued a proclamation that any young man who can solve the riddle of how the princess wears out her shoes each night will be rewarded with the princess’ hand in marriage and half his kingdom. Anatoly sees the contest as his one opportunity to make something of himself, but if he fails he is doomed to suffer the fate of the other twenty young men who have tried to solve the mystery before him. He will need all the conjurer’s wisdom and the audience’s help to succeed. |
